Curriculum & Syllabus

AMIS is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi, India and follows the CBSE curriculum and the recommended text books and coordinates with the regulations of the Ministry of Education (MoE), Saudi Arabia. The school prepares Class X students for the All India Secondary School Examination (AISSE) conducted by the board every year.

AMIS conducts classes for Kindergarten (Pre-Primary) and from Classes I to X (Secondary level) for boys and girls in separate facilities.

SCHEME OF STUDIES

A broad outline of the curriculum is provided below:

AMIS KINDERGARTEN

Play School:Pre-writing Skills, Pre-reading skills, Numbers Concept, General Studies, Fine Motor, Development Skills, Gross Motor Development Skills and Nursery Rhymes

L K G: English, Numbers Concept, General Knowledge, Fine Motor Development Skills, Gross Motor, Development Skills, Creative Activities and Nursery Rhymes

U K G: English, Second Language (Hindi, Urdu and Arabic), Numbers Concept, General Knowledge, Fine Motor Development Skills, Gross Motor Development Skills, Creative Activities, Nursery RhymesCompulsory Arabic.

OTHER CLASSES

Class I II:English, Second Language (Hindi, Urdu and Arabic), Mathematics, Environmental Science, and Other language for class II.

Class III - V: English, Second Language (Hindi, Urdu and Arabic), Mathematics, Environmental Science, and Social Science for class V & Other Language.

Class VI-VIII: English, Second Language (Hindi, Urdu and Arabic), Science, Mathematics, Social Science and Other Language.

Class IXX: English, Second Language (Hindi, Malayalam, Urdu, Arabic and Tamil), Mathematics, Science, Social Science.

MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION:

  • The medium of instruction and first language is English. Hindi, Urdu or Arabic can be opted as a second language.
  • Arabic, Urdu, Malayalam, Tamil and French have been introduced as other language (Third languages) from class II to Class VIII.
  • In addition to the above languages, Arabic language is mandatory for all classes as per the directives of the Ministry of Education, from UKG to class X.


AUXILIARY SUBJECTS:

Studies in Islam (SII), Moral Science, Saudi Arabian History Geography, Islamic Culture, Computer Science, General Knowledge, Arts Crafts, Health Physical Education, Life Skills Education and Disaster Management etc., are offered as auxiliary subjects to the students.

(Islamic Education is taught as part of the curriculum for Muslim students and Moral Science for Non-Muslim students)

SCHEME OF EVALUATION

AMIS strictly follows the guidelines of the CBSE for the evaluations and promotions. All aspects of students’ development, both in scholastic and co-scholastic field, are being observed and needful measures are taken to improve students’ performance by identifying his or her learning difficulties at regular time intervals from the beginning of the academic session.

PROMOTION

  • A minimum of 75% of attendance is compulsory for a student to be eligible for promotion to the next class.
  • All the assessments conducted in the school are MANDATORY.
  • Parents are requested to schedule their holiday plan according to the school vacation schedule, so that the student doesn’t miss any of the assessment.
  • No retest or improvement exam or weightage will be given to the student who misses any test or assessment. In such cases, the student will be marked absent in the Achievement Record.

CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

AMIS offers a wide range of Co-curricular activities designed to bring out the innate talents of the students. The students are divided into four houses namely Blue, Green, Yellow and Red. Various inter-house competitions talent hunts are conducted in the areas of literary, cultural, sports, games and fine arts. Students are encouraged to participate in talent tests such as Math’s Olympiad, Science Olympiad, English Olympiad, NGSE, TERI Green Olympiad and various Inter School competitions. We have a School Cabinet constituted with students, which functions under the guidance of the Principal and Senior Teachers.

SCOUTS & GUIDES

The Scouts & Guides movement aims to support our kids physical, mental and spiritual development which may play constructive roles in society. The programme facilitates team and collaborative learning and also prepares them for leading and organizing programmes. AMIS scouts & guides is the XXIX (29th) troop / company under Bharat Scouts & Guides in Saudi Arabia.

COUNSELLING & GUIDANCE

AMIS offers counseling and guidance session to students. The Counselors get to know the students’ personality and assesses their individual traits and then guide them.
